A polygraph test in Ternopil or an hour and a half to Lviv: how to choose the format
First, a note on the word. Day to day, people call every lie detector a polygraph, and that is how we use the word here. Our tests run on EyeDetect and VerifEye, which go by eye reactions and involve no sensors on the body; the classic polygraph is another method, and we do not have one.
Now about Ternopil. It is a major transport hub, linked to Lviv by both a highway and a fast train. An hour and a half each way is a trip that fits into one day: come to our office in Lviv at 45 Horodotska St., take the EyeDetect test in 30–45 minutes and go home. This is convenient when one person needs a test: there is no waiting for a specialist visit, and no visit to pay for.
A visit to Ternopil makes more sense when there are several people, for example all the drivers of one farm. A specialist brings the equipment and tests them in one visit; a quiet room with a table and a power outlet is enough, in your office, the farm office or a hotel room we agree on in advance. If the people live in different towns of the region, such as Chortkiv, Kremenets or Berezhany, it is convenient to bring them together in Ternopil on one day. And for those who cannot travel or are abroad right now, there is VerifEye, an online test taken on a phone. Prices for the online test and a visit are in the block below.
The Ternopil region is farming country: agriculture and the food industry lead its economy, and wheat, barley and sugar beet are grown here. So the first example is harvest time. Imagine a farmer near Chortkiv or Zbarazh: three drivers haul grain from the field to the elevator, and in the end the elevator has recorded fewer tonnes than were harvested. Each of the three, with his written consent, gets the same question: whether he took grain from this field anywhere other than the elevator between July 10 and July 25. That way each driver answers for himself, not the whole crew together.
The region's other hallmark is work abroad: many residents spend part of every year working in Poland, Italy and other countries. It can go like this: a husband has been working abroad for three years, less and less money comes home, and his wife wants to know whether he has taken out any loans since January that he is keeping quiet about. No travel is needed: he takes VerifEye wherever he lives, in Ukrainian, Russian, English or German. A third example is a carer for elderly parents while the children are abroad. Before trusting her with the house, you can ask, with her consent, whether she took money or belongings from the person she cared for at her previous job without permission. A short comparison shows which format fits each of these cases:
- To Lviv, an hour and a half by Intercity+ train each way: when one person needs a test, for example the carer
- A visit to Ternopil or to the farm: when there are several people, like the three drivers
- VerifEye online: when the person is abroad, or in Chortkiv, Kremenets, Berezhany or Borshchiv and cannot travel

Common reasons to book a test
Theft or missing money
When several people are under suspicion, each of them answers the same questions. The result is not court evidence and is no substitute for reporting to the police.
Infidelity in a relationship
We check one specific suspicion: we draw up the questions together with you, and the person reads them in advance. The test is voluntary and requires written consent.
Job candidate or employee
Screening before hiring or during employment on agreed topics, such as theft at a previous job or ties to competitors.
Dispute without evidence
A debt, an agreement or an accusation where it is one person's word against another's: the test checks a specific version of events. The result is not court evidence.

You can take the VerifEye online test today on your phone: it takes 15–20 minutes, and the PDF report comes within 5 minutes after the test. Yes. The test checks one specific suspicion, for example infidelity over a certain period. The partner under suspicion takes it, or both partners take separate tests. The test is voluntary and requires written consent. The VerifEye online test costs from UAH 2,500.
No Ukrainian law bans or specifically regulates private, voluntary polygraph tests. General rules apply, including the Law on Personal Data Protection: a person's data can be processed with their consent. We test only with written consent, and minors only with written consent from their parents and with the parents present. The rules for testing employees and job candidates are stricter, so talk to a lawyer before such a test. In criminal cases in 2023–2024, Ukraine's Supreme Court did not accept a polygraph examiner's conclusion as independent evidence, and our result is not court evidence either.
