Second Opinion on a Polygraph Result: A Lie Detector Retest

How the test solves it
A different measurement principle
A classic polygraph records breathing, pulse, and sweating, and the examiner draws the conclusion from the charts. EyeDetect records eye movements, pupil change, reading speed, and answer errors, and the score from 1 to 99 is calculated by the Converus algorithm. No person interprets the result.
The same questions, agreed in advance
We take the topics from the previous test and phrase them as statements about facts within the same period. You read all the questions before the test. This way the results of the two methods can be compared topic by topic.
What agreement means and what disagreement means
If two independent methods reach the same conclusion, confidence in it is about 97%. If the conclusions differ, the question needs further work: checking the wording, the period, and the person's condition during the first test. A disagreement by itself does not prove that anyone is “lying”, including the first examiner.
Honest about the limits
An EyeDetect result does not legally overturn the previous report and is not evidence in court in Ukraine. It is an independent second opinion you bring to an employer, a partner, or a lawyer. EyeDetect accuracy is 86–90%, VerifEye online 84–89%: errors are possible in both methods.

Questions are always about facts and events within a specific period. Not about thoughts, intentions, or feelings.

Questions and answers
The test gives an independent result on the same questions. Whether the employer takes it into account is up to them: legally, the result does not overturn the previous report. In practice, agreement or disagreement between two methods is an argument for a conversation.

This happens in no more than 10 cases out of 100, most often because of fatigue or nervousness. A repeat test is 50% off. An inconclusive result does not mean “lying”.
The test is taken voluntarily only, with the written consent of the person taking it. The report goes to that person or to the client they named in the consent form. The test can be taken anonymously: under a number, with no name or photo. We do not discuss tests and do not pass the report to third parties.
