How to take the test in San Marino

We have no office in San Marino. We only work by travelling to the client with EyeDetect equipment or online via VerifEye.

  • Online today: VerifEye

You receive a link, the person takes the test from a phone in a quiet room, in 15–20 minutes. The PDF report comes within 5 minutes after the test, the examiner's explanation the same day. Suitable for fidelity checks and job candidates.

  • Specialist visit with EyeDetect

Visits are scheduled around requests: we collect several requests in the region and set a date. The test takes place in your office or a rented room. 6–8 people can be tested in a day.

How much will the test in San Marino cost?

Answer 5 short questions and a specialist will calculate the exact price of a visit or an online test and call you back. Free and with no obligation.

Common reasons to book a test

  • Theft or missing money

When several people are under suspicion, each of them answers the same questions. The result is not court evidence and is no substitute for reporting to the police.

  • Infidelity in a relationship

We check one specific suspicion: we draw up the questions together with you, and the person reads them in advance. The test is voluntary and requires written consent.

  • Job candidate or employee

Screening before hiring or during employment on agreed topics, such as theft at a previous job or ties to competitors.

  • Dispute without evidence

A debt, an agreement or an accusation where it is one person's word against another's: the test checks a specific version of events. The result is not court evidence.

  • There is no direct bus from Lviv to San Marino, so the journey always runs through Rimini or Bologna. Without a flight the train is fastest: from Lviv via Przemyśl, Kraków, Vienna and Bologna to Rimini takes about 26 hours 45 minutes with four changes. There is no through ticket, so the tickets are bought separately and we did not check the total fare. From Rimini station the Bonelli Bus shuttle reaches San Marino in 55 minutes for €7 (≈ UAH 361) one way, with departures from 08:00 to 19:00 on the timetable for 15 September — 7 November 2026. Together that is about 29 hours from Lviv. Flying is quicker, though the time depends on the connection: a bus to Kraków (6–11 hours, €23–41, ≈ UAH 1,210–2,110) and a Ryanair flight to Bologna (1 hour 45 minutes, fares from about €15) or to Rimini (from €17, ≈ UAH 875; in October only on Wednesdays and Saturdays, last flight 24 October 2026). A 20 kg bag for the equipment is not included in the fare: €21.49–59.99 (≈ UAH 1,110–3,090) when booked with the ticket. From Bologna Airport a bus reaches Rimini station in 1 hour 30 minutes for €29 (≈ UAH 1,495). The bus takes longer: to Rimini FlixBus runs only with changes, 36–47 hours, €95–193 (≈ UAH 4,900–9,970), or about 39 hours with the shuttle; the direct bus to Bologna on Thursdays and Sundays costs €127 (≈ UAH 6,540). All amounts are one way; travel and the venue are paid separately from the test, and we will give you the exact round-trip amount once the dates are known.

  • Yes. The test checks one specific suspicion, for example infidelity over a certain period. The partner under suspicion takes it, or both partners take separate tests. The test is voluntary and requires written consent. The VerifEye online test costs from UAH 2,500 (≈ €49), and you do not need to wait for a visit.

  • You can take the test in Ukrainian, Russian, English or German. We do not run the test in Italian, the official language of San Marino. We draw up the questions together with you, and the person reads them in advance.

  • San Marino has no separate law on lie detectors. A full-text search for 'poligrafo' in the official legislation archive of the Grand and General Council (Consiglio Grande e Generale) returns only three acts, and none is about lie detection: in Regency Decree no. 13 of 13 May 1921 the word means a duplicating machine, and in Delegated Decrees no. 128 of 23 August 2019 and no. 11 of 30 January 2020 it means cardiology equipment for health facilities. Searches for 'menzogna', 'bugia', 'psicofisiologico' and 'veridicità' return no results at all. We found no law that permits, prohibits or licenses private voluntary tests, so the question is not regulated. San Marino is not in the EU or the EEA, so the GDPR does not apply directly: personal data is governed by Law no. 171 of 21 December 2018, and the supervisory authority is the Autorità Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, San Marino's data protection authority. Article 3 of that law also covers those who offer services from abroad to people in San Marino, so an online test run from Ukraine falls under it. Article 8 prohibits processing biometric and health data but allows it with the person's explicit consent for a specific purpose; neither the law nor guidance from the Garante says whether ocular data counts as biometric. Under article 6 consent must be provable, and the person can withdraw it at any time, as easily as it was given. Article 22 gives the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, which is why a specialist always reviews and explains our conclusion. Article 46 allows data transfers without separate authorisation only to EU states and to countries covered by a European Commission adequacy decision; Ukraine has no such decision, so transfers need the safeguards of article 47 or another legal ground. San Marino also ratified Council of Europe Convention 108 (Council Decree no. 58 of 29 April 2015) and its amending Protocol (Decree no. 136 of 27 September 2023). We test only with written consent, and minors only with written consent from their parents and with the parents present. The rules for employees and job candidates are stricter: article 14 of Law no. 95 of 19 September 1989 on employment placement bars an employer from investigating, including through third parties, a person's political, religious or trade-union views and facts that are not relevant to assessing their professional capacity, and article 96 of Law no. 171/2018 expressly keeps that rule in force. In its video-surveillance decisions (no. 18 of 27 July 2020 and no. 1 of 12 April 2022) the Garante repeats that remote monitoring of workers' activity is prohibited. So talk to a lawyer before testing employees or candidates. We found no San Marino court decision on polygraphs: the Tribunale website has no case-law database, and the published lists of Garante decisions for 2019–2022 and 2024 contain no such cases. Our result is not court evidence.
