Lie detector test in Vatican City: what to know

Vatican City is the smallest state in the world: 0.44 km² and 882 residents. Rome surrounds it on all sides. The fastest option is the VerifEye smartphone test, which you can take today. For an EyeDetect test, a specialist travels from Lviv with the equipment, and the test itself usually takes place in Rome; we agree on the date in advance, once several requests come in from the region.

How to take the test in Vatican City

We have no office in Vatican City. We only work by travelling to the client with EyeDetect equipment or online via VerifEye.

  • Online today: VerifEye

You receive a link, the person takes the test from a phone in a quiet room, in 15–20 minutes. The PDF report comes within 5 minutes after the test, the examiner's explanation the same day. Suitable for fidelity checks and job candidates.

  • Specialist visit with EyeDetect

Visits are scheduled around requests: we collect several requests in the region and set a date. The test takes place in your office or a rented room. 6–8 people can be tested in a day.

How much will the test in Vatican City cost?

Answer 5 short questions and a specialist will calculate the exact price of a visit or an online test and call you back. Free and with no obligation.

Common reasons to book a test

  • Theft or missing money

When several people are under suspicion, each of them answers the same questions. The result is not court evidence and is no substitute for reporting to the police.

  • Infidelity in a relationship

We check one specific suspicion: we draw up the questions together with you, and the person reads them in advance. The test is voluntary and requires written consent.

  • Job candidate or employee

Screening before hiring or during employment on agreed topics, such as theft at a previous job or ties to competitors.

  • Dispute without evidence

A debt, an agreement or an accusation where it is one person's word against another's: the test checks a specific version of events. The result is not court evidence.

What people come to us with

Typical requests from different cities and countries, without names or details.

  • Companies

    Traffic arbitrage

Screening candidates and employees to check whether they pass the company's offers to competitors.

  • Companies

    Call centres

Screening operators before hiring, and internal investigations when staff have access to money or the client database.

  • Businesses and families

Theft at work or at home

When several people are under suspicion, each takes the test with the same questions. Minors take it only with written consent from their parents and with the parents present.

  • Couples

    Suspected infidelity

The test checks one specific suspicion over a certain period. We draw up the questions together, and the person reads them in advance.

The test result is not court evidence.

Rome and other Italian cities

There are no other towns in Vatican City: the whole state lies inside Rome, and part of the Holy See's offices work from extraterritorial buildings in Rome itself. The VerifEye online test can be taken from anywhere. EyeDetect visits to Rome and other Italian cities work the same way: we set the date once several requests come in from the region.

Questions about the test in Vatican City

  • We have no office in Vatican City, so there are two options. You can take the VerifEye online test today on your phone, in a quiet room at home or at work. The EyeDetect test takes place during a specialist visit. You enter Vatican City through gates guarded by the Gendarmerie and the Swiss Guard. The Vatican Museums also ask visitors to leave large suitcases, rucksacks, tripods and stands in a free cloakroom. Carrying an equipment case around the state is therefore awkward: we run the test in Rome, in your office or a rented room. A quiet room with a table, a chair and a power outlet is enough.

  • VerifEye online test: UAH 2,500 (≈ €49) for one question, UAH 4,000 (≈ €78) for three, UAH 6,000 (≈ €116) for six, with no extra charges. EyeDetect with a visit: from UAH 10,000 (≈ €194) for one question and UAH 15,000 (≈ €291) for three, plus travel from Lviv and the venue. Prices are in hryvnias; euro amounts are approximate, at the NBU rate of 15.09.2026.

  • We plan trips to Rome and Vatican City once several requests come in from the region, so we cannot tell you in advance how long the wait will be. Once the date is agreed, a specialist comes from Lviv with EyeDetect equipment, and the test takes place in your office or a rented room. If you need an answer sooner, you can take the VerifEye online test today: the test takes 15–20 minutes, and the PDF report comes within 5 minutes after the test.

  • The direct bus from Lviv to Rome Tiburtina bus station takes 31 hours 50 minutes by timetable. In October 2026 it runs on Thursdays and Sundays, and a one-way ticket costs €132 (≈ UAH 6,800). Buses with changes take 36–52 hours, with a one-way ticket at roughly UAH 4,600–9,900. Flying is faster. Lviv to Kraków is about 3.8 hours by road, then roughly 2 hours to Ciampino airport, with a ticket at roughly UAH 1,000–5,800. Rzeszów is closer: about 2.4 hours by road, and flights to Fiumicino run on Tuesdays and Saturdays, 2 hours 20 minutes, with a ticket at roughly UAH 1,500–6,200. Fiumicino to the Vatican is about 35 km and 54 minutes by road, and the Leonardo Express train to Termini station takes 32 minutes and costs €14 (≈ UAH 721). From Ciampino, the Ciampino Airlink bus runs every 20 minutes to Ciampino station, and then a train goes to Termini. By car it is about 1,880 km from Lviv and 20 hours of pure driving, excluding border queues. All amounts are one way; travel and the venue are paid separately from the test, and we will give you the exact round-trip amount once the dates are known.

  • Yes. The test checks one specific suspicion, for example infidelity over a certain period. The partner under suspicion takes it, or both partners take separate tests. The test is voluntary and requires written consent. The VerifEye online test costs from UAH 2,500 (≈ €49), and you do not need to wait for a visit.

  • You can take the test in Ukrainian, Russian, English or German. We do not run it in Italian or Latin. We draw up the questions together with you, and the person reads them in advance.

  • Vatican City is not in the EU, so the GDPR does not apply here directly, and there is no European Commission adequacy decision for the Vatican either. Its own rules are the General Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data, promulgated by Decree No. DCLVII of the Pontifical Commission for Vatican City State of 30 April 2024, ad experimentum for three years, so until about April 2027. Its article 2 covers processing by the Governorate on Vatican territory and in the extraterritorial zones, and says nothing about private providers, so for a private voluntary test the law is unclear. Article 6 bans the processing of special data, including biometric and health data, apart from exceptions such as explicit consent for a specific purpose. Consent must be provable. It is given separately for each purpose and can be withdrawn at any time, and the person first receives an information notice, as a rule in writing. There is no separate data protection authority: the General Counsellor of Vatican City State acts as the DPO, and the President of the Governorate closes complaints with a reasoned order that cannot be appealed. We test only with written consent, and minors only with written consent from their parents and with the parents present. Neither the Fundamental Law of 31 July 2026, nor the data regulation, nor the Artificial Intelligence Guidelines (Decree No. DCCII of 16 December 2024), nor the amendments to the criminal laws mention a polygraph, a lie detector or an eye-movement test: there is neither an express ban nor an express permission. The rules for employees and job candidates are stricter: the General Regulation for the Staff of the Governorate (article 9 §2) allows additional requirements and checks but does not name the polygraph. Talk to a lawyer before such a test. We found no decision of the Vatican Tribunal, Court of Appeal or Court of Cassation on the polygraph, and under article 12 of the AI Guidelines only the judge may assess the facts and the evidence. Our result is not court evidence. If the test takes place in Rome, Italian law and the EU data protection rules (GDPR) apply. There, article 8 of the Workers' Statute bars an employer from investigating facts irrelevant to professional aptitude. In criminal proceedings, article 188 of the Italian code of criminal procedure bars methods that affect a person's freedom of self-determination, even with that person's consent.
